Hi,

We are running Windows 2003 AD w/Single domain here. One of our member
server is Windows 2000. I was wondering is it possible to create a script
schedule job (AT) to ping a remote and notify users by email if the remote
server is down.
If possible, Could you tell me how to do it?
I know i could create a BAT file to ping the remote server every certain
minutes using AT scheduler but don't know how to send an email notification
when the server is not responding.   If this task is not doable by Windows
2000. What other third party could accomplish this task? Any suggestgions?

Thanks in advance
Mugen

Are you saying Windows 2000 is not able to accomplish this task by default
and has to get thrid party software?

No, WIndows 2000 can do this, but it's more efficient to use a tool that
someone else has already created. If your trying to learn scripting, this is
a good challenge, but if your looking for "free" networking monitoring
software, look at the other tools.
