Is there any way to control the Transport Server (subcomponent of Windows Deployment Services) via PDoes the Transport Server expose any functionality through a COM or WMI
(or anything else) interface that can be manipulated via PowerShell? The docs say that the only way Transport Server can be managed is with wdsutil, but we would like not to have to shell out to an external binary if at all possible. Chris Doherty wrote:

I wasn't aware of this limitation/documentation. It may explain some errors others have been reporting: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.powershell&tid=8910e47e-3c4e-47e0-8df0-1dea0827c827&cat=en_US_3750E87B-4971-4A5C-A537-45F5D7ABBECC&lang=en&cr=US&sloc=&p=1 So, what task(s) are you looking to accomplish? Aren't they any cmdlets that can accomplish your task? As a standard role in Server 2008, I'm assuming there's a COM or WMI object I can use to manipulate it, but I can't find any documentation. Chris Doherty wrote:

There is a wdsutil command-line that should work from PowerShell. There's also a microsoft.public.windows.powershell newsgroup for PowerShell... http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb530729(VS.85).aspx The above link says: "There is no API for the WDS management components. These components are a set of tools that you use to manage the server, operating system images, and client computer accounts." That would leave me to believe you can't manage WDS other than possibly with wdsutil...
