Net send over different domainsHi
We have two different networks, each one has one SBS 2003 server and Windows XP clients. Because users from domain A and B want to access resources from other domain I have configure routing so that both networks can be accessed. Because there are two SBS 2003 I couldn't create trust between them, so I created the same account in each domain so that users could access files from both domain. Now they want to use net send command, so I'm wondering if it is possible and how that users from domain A could use 'net send' to send info to users in domain B and users from domain B could use 'net send' to users in domain A? Thank you in advance Regards,Miha Miha,
yes - you can - as long as Messenger service is running on the target , its UDP port 138 is accessible, and you have a name resolution method available between both domains (assuming that you use computer names rather than IP addresses)... hth Marcin Show quoteHide quote "Miha" <miha.ber***@email.si> wrote in message news:uiT4Af9SJHA.1148@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Hi > > We have two different networks, each one has one SBS 2003 server and > Windows XP clients.
