domain controllerSir
One more thing i want to know that if we have two Dcs (Dc1, Dc2) in a single domain forest. Dc1 have all five (FSMO) roles and another Dc2 have not any role but both Dcs are Global catalog and both Dcs have active directory integrated Dns. Then suddenly our Dc1 goes down and that is not recoverable, then how many changes require making the Dc2 like as Dc1. Please resolve the problem Thanks Sunil kumar -- sunil kumar verma ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sunil kumar verma's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/sunil-kumar-verma.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/active-directory/1088536.htmhttp://forums.techarena.in Hello sunil,

Do that by using ADSIEDIT and writing a new DN into it of the NTDS Settings object of a DC -- Show quoteHide quoteCheers, (HOPEFULLY THIS INFORMATION HELPS YOU!) # Jorge de Almeida Pinto # MVP Identity & Access - Directory Services # BLOG (WEB-BASED)--> http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/jorge/default.aspx BLOG (RSS-FEEDS)--> http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/jorge/rss.aspx ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ * This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties and confers no rights! * Always test ANY suggestion in a test environment before implementing! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ################################################# ################################################# ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Meinolf Weber [MVP-DS]" <meiweb(nospam)@gmx.de> wrote in message news:ff16fb6610b378cb2da1d71c60eb@msnews.microsoft.com... > Hello sunil, > > If it crashes and never comes back you have to seize the FSMO roles: > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255504 > > Best regards > > Meinolf Weber > Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and > confers no rights. > ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups > ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > >> Sir >> One more thing i want to know that if we have two Dcs (Dc1, Dc2) in a >> single domain forest.
