Hi Gereth, Did you get have any solution for same , we are also facing the same challenge... REgards Shailesh garet wrote: Password Policy - minimum age 18-Jan-08 Hi Folks,
I'd like clarification on an issue relating to the minimum password age.
When the minimum password change period is set to ,say, seven days, does this
apply when an administrator has changed a users password ?
e.g.
User A has forgotten their password and minimum password age is set to 7 days.
User A calls the helpdesk and asks for a password reset.
The helpdesk reset the password
The user dutifully tries to reset their helpdesk provided password after
they have logged on
In the above example, should the user be able to change their password or
will they have to wait 7 days ?
Currently on one of the environments I'm working on, the user is unable to
change their password - this causes a security issue in that the helpdesk
operator will now know that users' password for the next 7 days. This
behaviour doesn't appear to change if the 'Must change password on next
logon' option is used (although I haven't tested this exhaustively)
Thanks for all input,
Gareth ...
