How to setup an account as non Domain admin to join comps to domaiI want to setup a sysprep files that will join all of my imaged computers to
the domain. If i use a non admin account, I believe that there is a limit to how many computers a non admin account can join to the domain. Am i wrong, and if not, is there a way to set a specific account as having unlimited capacity to joing computers to the domain? In the default domain security policy go to user rights managnet and than
you can assiang a ad user the rights to add a computer account to the ad. But isn't there a limit tothe amount of computers an account can join to the
domain if they are not admin. I remember some of my tech staff getting a "you have reached the maximum number of accounts that you can join to the domain " message. It may have been in NT 4 or 2000. I am not sure. You are correct. The limit, in WIN2000, is 10. I believe that the same
holds true in WIN2003. However, you can adjust this to a higher number (whether that is a good idea or not is up for discussion...I would not want to increase this...I would go the other way...but that is just me). The attribute for which you need to look is "ms-DS-MachineAccountQuota". Have you considered creating a user account object that is created specifically for this purpose? -- Show quoteHide quoteCary W.
