Anybody successfully used the Shared Toolkit with respect to the AD group policy?  I'm a little afraid in deploying this what appears to be a nice tool to lock down a specific local user with administrator rights.

R,

I have not heard of this tool (although that means next to nothing!).  However, I am a bit confused.  What is it supposed to do?  Do you mean that it locks down the local users that might exist on any domain computer account objects (for example, the local Administrator account)?  Do you use local accounts?

Here... take a look at this...http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sharedaccess/default.mspx

I've been looking for a third party tool to be able to lock down a local user and stumbled across this one... it's apparently relatively new as I've been looking for over a month...

Anyway, it works great for locking down selective local users, especially ones that require local admin rights (instead of all users with the local group policy in XP), but apparently there's a script included that will allow you to use this toolkit in an AD environment.

Just asking to see if anyone's used it yet in the AD environment as I'm a little worried about deploying it if it hasn't been tested extensively...  Don't want to give myself extra headaches...
