Hello shrikant,

No, the name you are seeing in the logon to window is the NetBios domain
name. This can only be changed with domain rename.

Best regards

As Meinolf indicated, not without a domain rename. Here's more info:

Ok, so are you sure you want to rename the domain? Read up on it first:
How Domain Rename Works:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738208.aspx

Also, if Exchange 2003 is involved, it complicates it. And if you have Ex 2007, it's not supported.

However, as your post's subject indicates, yes you can add another tree in your forest, but keep in mind, that will complicate things administratively, besides using ADMT to migrate users from one domain to another, if you have Exchange, there are certain things that must be performed for the migration, as well.

You could try adding a new upn suffix via Domains and Trusts.  This won't
remove the old name but it will give you an alias which mught help.
