OT: Fastest solution for user data migration to domain. Client sideI've recently built out a shiny new 2008 domain to replace an aging 2000
domain. Most users have been added to the new domain with diffent names and soon it will be time to manually change the domain membership on over 300 workstations. I need to find the most efficient way to move user files and settings from one domain profile to another, on the same machine. Typical I've done this via manual copies and tried fastwiz once or twice, (seems more useful for transferring profiles to different computers). Are they any new techniques or utilities that can help expediate this process? Thanks, - TZ Howdie!

It'll do just that for you. Florian I briefly looked at that and the USMT tool. In the case we are completely
redesigning the Active Directory structure. User names will follow a different naming scheme, the OU structure, security groups, group policies are being built from the ground up so everything is as clean as possible. The only thing that will probably stay the same is the workstation and server names which ADMT may be considered for. I may not be aware of everything it can do. Based on the description, it looks like it's used for transferring AD records to another AD. The only way I can see to complete the domain migration is to actually sit down at the workstations, manually join them to the new domain and copy the user settings to the new profiles once they are created locally on the machine. I'm hoping to come with a more effiecient way to complete this final step. Is this something ADMT can assist with and how?
