Server under NO LOAD -> ok for days ... eventually gets slow...

We are a little confused as we can not find a reason for this problem.. it
always goes away after a restart of the server.... then... after some amount
of days and even weeks we will notice that the network drives will be slow or
more specifically, if we try to run a setup.exe file from a network drive,
instead of taking 2-3 seconds.. it may take 15+ seconds... on the server side
the load is almost 99% System Idle Process......

after a restart everything is fast again...

any ideas or thoughts or direction...... no obvious issues within the event
viewer...

Hello MSUTech,

What OS version SP/patch level are you talking about? Any errors in the event
viewer of the server when this happens? Do you realize other problems like
slow logons or network disconnections?

Best regards

Use Perfmon to determine what system resources are being depleted - use

Very difficult to troubleshoot. Your best bet is either to undo recent
changes, or update all firmware, drivers etc.
