ISA Server 2006 and Firewall clientsrunning on it, I have got all clients computer installed firewall client software for ISA. My question is one of my computer im currently using havent been joined to the domain and is using firewall client to use proxy server which is provided by ISA server, I ve made a change on hosts file on this client like adding a line test.domain.com pointing to 127.0.0.1 . however when i navigate the website it pops up a page that saying "Network Access Message: The website cannot be found ", this content generated by isa server, how can i skip this that isa would let me navigate my localhost (127.0.0.1) also on this client computer dns servers pointing to this server which runs ISA,AD,DNS servers on it. and also is there any document for newbees what is the best practice using ISA and AD. thanks Running ISA on a DC is not a supported configuration.
If this was an ASA would you try to run a DC on it? ISA is a firewall product just like ASA (even comes in a hardware format). Treat it like a firewall,..give it dedicated hardware. If a Client is not a Domain Member I don't think you can use the FWC software on it. -- Show quoteHide quotePhillip Windell The views expressed, are my own and not those of my employer, or Microsoft, or anyone else associated with me, including my cats. ----------------------------------------------------- Technet Library ISA2004 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc302436(TechNet.10).aspx ISA2006 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb898433(TechNet.10).aspx Understanding the ISA 2004 Access Rule Processing http://www.isaserver.org/articles/ISA2004_AccessRules.html Troubleshooting Client Authentication on Access Rules in ISA Server 2004 http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/1/8/918ed2d3-71d0-40ed-8e6d-fd6eeb6cfa07/ts_rules.doc Microsoft Internet Security & Acceleration Server: Partners http://www.microsoft.com/isaserver/partners/default.mspx Microsoft ISA Server Partners: Partner Hardware Solutions http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/edgesecurity/partners/hardwarepartners.mspx ----------------------------------------------------- "Cem Sisman" <c*@cemsisman.com> wrote in message news:B87E2644-1747-4BF1-BC9B-370C2B3ED148@microsoft.com... >I have got isa server 2006 installed on a server also Active directory >running on it, I have got all clients computer installed firewall client >software for ISA. For ISA better post to: microsoft.public.isaserver and as Philipp mentioned for ISA use a dedicated server and not a DC.
