AD upgrade - what changes?Hi I'm upgrading AD 2k to 2k3 soon and we have numerous applications which
reply on LDAP and account attribute names. Do any of these change or are they modified somehow when the upgrade takes please? Anything like this I need ot be aware of? Also does anything like this modify somehow when upgrading to 2k8? Thanks, Andy Hello Andrew,
The schema will be extended, existing attributes will not change. Doesn't matter which version you go. If you use exchange 2000 you have to check/change some attributes before running adprep command form the 2003. Also included in the document. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325379/en-us But to make sure, i suggest to create a test lab with the applications and 2003 DCs. As said by Meinolf there will be no changes for the old attributes instead after upgrading or migrating new attributes are added to he schema leaving the old attributes intact. Thanks
