Which is the best way to provide remote support and desktop viewing (from

Besides Isaac's suggestion for NetMeeting which is free, there are other
tools (but with costs involved) such as techinline.com, teamviewer.com,
logmein.com, etc. I use Teamviewer and Techinline's tools. These tools of
course, require a user to run the client side piece, provide you with an ID#
and when you connect, they provide you the password. They work through
firewalls and proxies, too. The password changes for each session, so it is
secure and only good for each session to prevent connecting back in without
the user's permissions.

Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance work pretty well.
You can use GPO to enable the helpdesk to Offer remote assistance without
waiting for an invitation.
With VNC you can connect to a user session when they are not there, but only
if the screensaver has not kicked in.
