Hi,

We would like to implement disk quota limits on user's home folder which is
mapped as a network drive on their workstation by GPO. Is this possible?

Please advise.

yes, use W2K3 R2 for the server that hosts the home directories
R2 implements quotas on the folders. With an auto-quota you could setup the
initial stuff and it is configured by itself

by default windows implements volume based quotas, but too be honest that
sucks

Hi,

Actually, we do not have Win2k3 R2 installed on our file server, is there
another way to do this?

Please advise.
Thank you.

Just the volume based quota on a per user basis...which would be a pain to
set up but there might be some script you can find that would automate it's
set up.  go to properties on the volume that's hosting the home directories
and go to quota tab. From there you can enable quotas and set quota entries
for the drive. As the other user said, R2 has the File Server Resource
Manager that allows quotas based on a per folder basis as well as file
screening.
