quota on network drive (user's home folder)Hi,
We would like to implement disk quota limits on user's home folder which is mapped as a network drive on their workstation by GPO. Is this possible? Please advise. yes, use W2K3 R2 for the server that hosts the home directories
R2 implements quotas on the folders. With an auto-quota you could setup the initial stuff and it is configured by itself by default windows implements volume based quotas, but too be honest that sucks -- Show quoteHide quoteCheers, (HOPEFULLY THIS INFORMATION HELPS YOU!) # Jorge de Almeida Pinto # MVP Windows Server - Directory Services BLOG (WEB-BASED)--> http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/jorge/default.aspx BLOG (RSS-FEEDS)--> http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/jorge/rss.aspx ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ * This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties and confers no rights! * Always test before implementing! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ################################################# ################################################# ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Pauline" <Paul***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:11600F27-AB5C-41EF-819A-B9D1A1E79402@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > We would like to implement disk quota limits on user's home folder which > is > mapped as a network drive on their workstation by GPO. Actually, we do not have Win2k3 R2 installed on our file server, is there another way to do this? Please advise. Thank you. Pauline Show quoteHide quote "Pauline" wrote: > Thank you for your info. set up but there might be some script you can find that would automate it's set up. go to properties on the volume that's hosting the home directories and go to quota tab. From there you can enable quotas and set quota entries for the drive. As the other user said, R2 has the File Server Resource Manager that allows quotas based on a per folder basis as well as file screening.
