Okay so a client of ours has registered for a certificate, I've approved it,
but he's on a Unix box and now he cannot get his new certificate. I can't
for the life of me find the right MSC option to export his certificate as a
text file and send it to him as text.  Where is this option? Win 2003
Standalone CA...

From the user's laptop, use the "Certificates" snapin. Choose "User" when
prompted. Once opened, drill down in the console to "Personal" and export it
in the type of your choosing. The user can do it as well because you need to
be logged on as that user to get to it. I believe you can do it in the CA
console too, but can't specifically remember and I don't have a CA in front
of me at the moment to check for you. You can view the certs that were given
out. Try right clicking on them to see what options you get.

The user is on unix, so they were able to register using Firefox, but no get
the pending certificate.  I've approved it within the CA console, but
there's no obvious option to export it. The only export option is "export
binary data" which only lets me export display information but not the
actual cert.

Or is there a way to point my internet explorer on a different workstation
to get his certificate?
