Utilizing 2003 R2 improvements

Besides updating the schema to R2, what else is needed to use the functional
improvements like DFS and Printing?

Are 2003R2 DC's required? All, one, or just the ones providing the
improvements?

What benefit would I get from updating the schema and just having a R2
member sever?

only the servers that need/use the new features must be R2

R2 schema update is needed to be able to use DFS-R and to distribute printer
connections through GPOs

Thanks Jorge,

Just to clarify,

If I update the schema then I could use updated adm files to distribute
printer connections through GPO's?

good question about the distribution of the printer connections...

to be able to distribute printer connections to clients you need the PMC.
You can configure the printer connection distribution from within the PMC or
from with a GPO. Don't forget the "you need the PMC"!.

you can compare it with the exchange system manager. If you want to manage a
user with a mailbox you need the exchange system manager. If you don't have
the exchange system manager you can only manage the user but not the
mailbox, because mailbox tabs are not available. Because the mailbox tabs
are not available does not mean the mailbox is not there!
Concerning the distribution of printer connections, the idea is the same! It
is the PMC that adds an additional node to a GPO, not the ADM files.
