every time i run dcdiag and run test on the dns servers in the forest i

get the following errors
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

rror: Root hints list has invalid root hint server: a.root-servers.net.

(198.41.0.4)
Error: Root hints list has invalid root hint server:
b.root-servers.net. (192.228.79.201)
Error: Root hints list has invalid root hint server:
c.root-servers.net. (192.33.4.12)

DNS server: 128.63.2.53 (h.root-servers.net.)
1 test failure on this DNS server
This is not a valid DNS server. PTR record query for the

1.0.0.127.in-addr.arpa. failed on the DNS server 128.63.2.53
               Name resolution is not functional.
_ldap._tcp.klroot.corp. failed on the DNS server 128.63.2.53

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

it does this for every root server. if i run nslookup and type in the
dns or IP address of the root server i get a reply back.

is this something i should be worried about? i havent been having any
problems on the LAN, replication, bad event ids, etc.

thoughts??

THis may be because it cannot contact the Root servers. Can you describe
your infrastructure, such as internet access, firewalls, proxy, ISA, what
event log errors are showing up, etc etc etc.
