Frequently disconnected laptop with Active DirectoryOur company has audit policies that require users to have a 10 minute
timeout where the screensaver is started and a password is required. However, when a laptop is disconnected from the network, is there a way to disable this screen saver setting when the user uses the domain login? Currently all of the settings are cached including the 10 minute rule. Please let me know if there is a simple way to do this. Thanks The applicable group policy comes from AD will always be enforced as
long as you log in as a domain account, even you are not connected to company network. One of two set of firewall rules will be chosen based on the connection status, but both rule sets come from same policy. This type of enforcement is what group policy is designed for. If you don't want the screen save when disconnected, use a different user account, such as a local account, instead. |
