I have an AD on a W2K - Std server and an Exchange Svr on a W2K - Enterprise
server. When I create a new account on the AD, an exchange mailbox is not
created.
When I go to the Exchange System Mgr, I cannot create a mailbox, since it
expects the AD to create it.

Is there a way to just create the mailbox for an existing user, since the
mailbox was not created automatically when I setup the user account?

to be able to create a mailbox you need to have system manager installed.
you can do that on the exchange server using ADUC or you can install system
manager on the DC.
with both you are able to do exchange related tasks.
when the system manager is available you will be able to create a mailbox
when you create a user

Thank you Jorge & Paul,

I installed Exchange Manager on the DC and the Exchange Tasks became
available. I have added the mail boxes to the users, but do not see them in
System Manager. Maybe it takes a little time to enable?

thanxs again

They won't show up until the user accesses it or an email is delivered.

Arg, no do not install the Exchange tools on a DC. You shouldn't be doing user
management from a DC. Install the tools on a workstation where you do the user
management from.
